Our High School Adopters sponsored a "Brick Paving" at the new high school to raise money to support purchasing a new Panther Statue. There was one brick purchased and laid in Vicki's memory by friends and other bricks were purchased for our kids and nephew who graduated from SSHS. I, also, purchased a brick for Vicki and me in memory of our time as teacher and coach at SSSD together.
I have about another month of finish work with the athletic facilities at the new school while working on our normal school responsibilities. Although we are substantially done, there is still much detail work to finish our athletic area. The academic side is mostly operational with some finish work and technology work still going on. Still, today was a great first day of school at our new high school.
One of the things I love about teaching is that there is a new beginning each fall. Each new school year brings a renewed hope for the year and the kids.
